This is Mishima City’s iconic station, set against the backdrop of the majestic Mount Fuji.

30年ほど前に知ってから、ずっと訪れてみたかった場所です。

This location boasts some of the clearest water in Japan—so much so that it is frequently featured on television programs.

This is a place I’ve wanted to visit ever since I first learned about it some 30 years ago.

湧水群を後にし、三島広小路駅から伊豆箱根鉄道で三島駅に向かいます。

After leaving the group of springs, I head to Mishima Station from Mishima-Hirokoji Station via the Izuhakone Railway.

伊豆箱根鉄道三島駅では、東京を走っていた西武鉄道からの転籍車が待機していました。

At Izu-Hakone Railway’s Mishima Station, a train transferred from Seibu Railway—which formerly operated in Tokyo—was waiting.

ちょうどその時、東京駅発のJR東日本の特急列車が伊豆箱根鉄道の修善寺駅へと乗り入れて行きました。

Just then, a JR East limited express train departing from Tokyo Station was making its way onto the tracks of the Izu-Hakone Railway, bound for Shuzenji Station.

左側前方に転線する際に、列車の車体とホームが接触しないよう、先端部が湾曲状に削られています。
