This is Myeong-dong, one of Seoul’s premier bustling districts.
As for why I am in such a dazzling place—a setting hardly suited to someone like me…

It was because it was the meeting point for a certain half-day tour.

A van carrying a total of 15 people—including the driver and the guide—heads west along the Han River.
It is not limited to the area around Seoul, but high-rise residential complexes stretch on as you look out the train window.

The place we arrived at was Aegibong Peace Eco-Park.

That building might just be the location of the Starbucks that is currently attracting the most attention in the world.

The location is here.

The distance from this observation deck to the border is 1.4 km.

We cannot cross directly to the opposite bank.

Looking upstream from the lower reaches of the river that serves as the boundary.
