今回の目的地は、こちらの靖国神社です。

私がこの神社に関心を持ち出したのは、中学生の頃からだったと思います。
私の母の家族は1941年頃より1946年まで、祖父の仕事の関係で台湾の台北市で生活をしていました。
その時、祖父は陸軍に召集され、その頃の話を私たち孫に聞かせてくれていました。
幸いにも台湾はフィリピンからの米軍は上空を通過したに止まったため、終戦翌年には母は家族揃って日本へ帰ることが出来ました。
しかし、それは多くの方々が国を護っていただいたからこそのことでした。
このような背景もあり、私はこの地に対する気持ちを持ちはじめたのです。
I think it was when I was in junior high school that I became interested in this shrine.
My mother’s family lived in Taipei, Taiwan from about 1941 to 1946 because of my grandfather’s work.
At that time, my grandfather was convened by the Army and told us the story of that time.
Fortunately, in Taiwan, the US military from the Philippines only passed over the sky, so the year after the end of the war, my mother was able to return to Japan with her family.
However, that was because many people protected the country.
Against this background, I began to have a feeling for this place.

この日は11月ということもあり、七五三参りのご家族連れもお越しでした。
このお子さんがお召しになられているお着物、美しいですね。
この場所で、改めて日本文化に触れることができたことも有難く感じます。
この後、本殿での正式参拝(昇殿参拝)をさせていただいたのですが、写真撮影ができるのは、この鳥居の外側までです。
お参りさせていただくことに場所の違いはありませんが、やはり神職の方にご案内いただき、本殿において祝詞をあげていただくと、気持ちが引き締まります。
ここにおられる皆様のおかげで、今の私たちの暮らしがあると、改めて感謝する次第です。
Since this day was November, families who visited Shichi-go-san also came.
Shichi-go-san literally means seven, five, and three year-old of children.
Shici-go-san is a traditional event to celebrate the healthy growth of children as they turn three, five, and seven years of age.
The kimono that this child is wearing is beautiful.
I am grateful that I was able to experience Japanese culture again at this place.
After this, I had a formal worship at the main shrine , but I can only take pictures outside this torii gate.
There is no difference in the location of the visit, but if you guide the priest and give a congratulatory message at the main shrine, your feelings will be tightened.
Thanks to the deity here, we have our lives today.
お参りの後は、テラスでランチをいただきました。
東京のクラフトビールも、美味しく頂戴しました。
After visiting, I had lunch on the terrace.
The craft beer made in Tokyo was also delicious.

実は、今回のお参りには後日談があります。
正式参拝受付の折に、私の理解不足で職員の方にご迷惑をかける格好で辞去してしまっていたのです。
にも関わらず、後日、ご担当の方よりお気遣いのお手紙と、お心遣いを頂戴しました。
この場を借りて、御礼申し上げます。
今回、私の不足にもかかわらず、大変丁寧なご応対をいただき、こちらで奉職されている方々のお気持ちに感銘を受けました。
今回、この地にお参りさせていただき、改めて日本文化、そして日本人の素晴らしさを認識することが出来ました。
宗教的なこと、諸々の世情に疎い私ですが、自分の中で護り、築いてゆきたいものが明確になったと思える旅になりました。

Despite this, at a later date, I received a letter of concern and consideration from the person in charge.

This time, despite my shortage, I received a very polite response and was impressed by the feelings of the people who are working here.
By visiting this place this time, I was able to recognize the Japanese culture and the splendor of the Japanese people.
Although I am not familiar with religious matters and various worlds, it was a journey that made me think that what I wanted to protect and create became clear.
