甲府の翌朝、山梨県の大月駅へやってきました。
The morning after my stay in Kofu, I arrived at Otsuki Station in Yamanashi Prefecture.
ここからは富士山麓電氣鐵道の観光列車・富士山ビュー特急に初乗車です。
From here, I’ll be taking my first ride on the Fujisan View Express, a sightseeing train operated by the Fujikyu Railway.

車内は木製調度品を基本としたインテリア。
昨今の国内観光列車のトレンドですね。
The interior features a design based on wooden furnishings.
That reflects the recent trend in sightseeing trains in Japan.

河口湖駅に到着です。
駅からの、この風景。
圧巻です。

富士山を背景とした河口湖駅。
この駅の標高は857mと、京都を見下ろす比叡山の標高848mよりも高い位置にあることをらこの時初めて知りました。
富士山頂が東海道新幹線から望むよりも近く見えていることが、この場所の標高の高さを物語っています。

It was then that I first learned this station sits at an elevation of 857 meters—higher than Mount Hiei (848 meters), which overlooks Kyoto.
The fact that the summit of Mount Fuji appears closer here than when viewed from the Tokaido Shinkansen speaks to the high elevation of this location.

帰路は河口湖駅まで乗り入れている、JRの特急列車で東京へと向かいます。
For the return journey, I will head to Tokyo on a JR limited express train that runs directly to Kawaguchiko Station.

列車名は「富士回遊」。
まさに、今回「三島➡️柿田川➡️甲府➡️河口湖」と回遊した旅を象徴するネーミングでした。
The train is named “FUJI EXCURSION”.
The name perfectly encapsulated the journey I took this time, making the rounds from Mishima to Kakitagawa, Kofu, and finally Lake Kawaguchi.

お蕎麦屋さんを見つけたので、立川駅で途中下車。
I spotted a soba shop, so I got off the train at Tachikawa Station.

あっさりした醤油味ラーメンを見つけたので、こちらをチョイスしました。
京都には少ないタイプなので、新鮮な雰囲気で美味しくいただきました。
I found a light soy sauce-flavored ramen, so I chose that one.
It’s the kind of place you don’t often find in Kyoto, so it offered a fresh atmosphere, and I really enjoyed the meal.

京都への帰路からの富士山。
まさに「富士海遊」の締めくくりでした。
Mount Fuji on the way back to Kyoto.
It was the perfect conclusion to the “FUJI EXCURSION” journey.
