172 A wonderful hideaway restaurant.

The next stop from Kofu is Machida, Tokyo.

★

The restaurant at the end of the corridor leading from this brilliant entrance is my next destination.

★

“Here” is a teppanyaki restaurant located at the back of an alley.

I think what draws me to this location is its “deep alley” presence.

I once stopped by Cafe Mako in Tsukiji Market, Tokyo.

The other day I visited Golden Rabbit Beer, a brewery in Nara.

And my usual meeting place: Rojioku ( = at the back of the alley ) Garden 168.

Just looking at the picture of an “omelette with mentaiko” whets my appetite.

“Mentaiko” is cod roe that has been dipped in chili pepper soup to give it a spicy flavor.

★

“Oyster Ajillo.” I’d like another baguette.

★

The “Western-style Yakisoba” has the flavor of yakisoba, and the noodles are “thoroughly boiled” spaghetti. Well-boiled spaghetti is called “Morbido.”

“Yakisoba” is stir-fried Chinese noodles with a sweet and savory sauce.

I met “Here” at the back of an alley.

I’ll come again!
