154 New Year’s Greetings in 2025.
新年明けまして、おめでとうございます。
毎年の年賀状には「その年の干支」に因んだ駅を選んでいます。
最近になって始めたことですが、ここにご紹介したいと思います。
Happy New Year!
For my New Year’s cards every year, I choose a station based on the zodiac sign of the year.
I started this recently, but I would like to introduce it here.
☆
まずは「丑年」の2021年。
First of all, 2021 is the year of the Ox.
ここは難読駅名で有名な、山口県の「特牛(こっとい)駅」です。
この時は京都・宇治から現地まで車で訪れたのですが、片道およそ550kmの道のりでした。
やってきた車両は私の好きなディーゼルカーだったので、訪れた甲斐がありました。
This is Kottoi Station in Yamaguchi Prefecture, which is famous for its difficult-to-read station name.
The characters in the station’s name, “特牛” mean “Special Ox”.
At this time, I drove from Uji, Kyoto to the site, and it was approximately 550km one way.
The vehicle that arrived was my favorite diesel car, so it was worth the visit.

次は「卯年」の2023年。
Next is 2023, the Year of the Rabbit.
こちらは、山形県の「白兎(しろうさぎ)」駅です。
この日は冷たい雨の降る11月でしたが、列車を追いかけている時は「全く寒さを感じません」でした。
This is Shirosagi Station in Yamagata Prefecture.
The characters in the station’s name, “白兎” mean “White Rabbit”.
It was a cold and rainy November day, but I didn’t feel cold at all while chasing the train.z

2024年は「辰年」。
2024 is the Year of the Dragon.
韓国ソウル市内にある「龍山(ヨンサン)」駅です。
当初は日本国内の別の駅を候補にしていたのですが、2023年11月の韓国旅行での撮影です。
この旅行中にソウル市内の洋菓子店を訪ねたのですが、その最寄駅がここでした。
偶然の発見に、驚きと喜びが溢れ出したことを覚えています。
Yongsan Station is located in Seoul, South Korea.
The characters in the station’s name, “龍山” mean “Dragon Mountain”.
Initially, I was considering another station in Japan, but this photo was taken during a trip to Korea in November 2023.
During this trip, I visited a Western confectionery shop in Seoul, and this was the closest station.
I remember being overwhelmed with surprise and joy at this accidental discovery.

そして今年は「巳年」。
And this year is the Year of the Snake.
東京メトロ有楽町線の「辰巳駅」の風景です。
新旧の干支が連なる駅名で、行き来する列車の様子を撮影することができました。

The characters in the station’s name, “辰巳” mean “Dragon Snake”.
The name of the station is a combination of the old and new zodiac signs, and I was able to take pictures of the trains coming and going.

来年の干支は「午」。
今からプランを楽しく検討しています。
Next year’s zodiac sign is “Horse”.
I’m having fun thinking about plans now.
