033 Calm space in the train.

今回は大阪難波から三重県の鳥羽までの移動です。
移動の道のりは、⬇️のルートです。
This time I will move from Osaka Namba to Toba in Mie prefecture.
The journey is the ⬇️ route.

利用する列車は、近鉄特急しまかぜ。
ホームへの入線時には、多くの方がその姿を写真に収めておられました。
The train used is Kintetsu Limited Express Shimakaze.
Many people took pictures of them when they entered the platform.

10:40の発車ですが、ホームに到着したのはその直前でした。
時間に余裕がなかったため、足早に車内へと乗り込みます。
The departure was at 10:40, but I arrived at the platform just before that.
I didn’t have enough time, so I quickly got into the car.

予約をしていたのは、こちらの「和風個室」。
この部屋は、1編成につき1部屋だけあり、予約が難しいと言われています。
ですので、私も今回は乗車日２週間前10:30の予約開始に合わせ、何度もスマホ操作の練習をして、祈るような思いで席の確保をしていました。
I made a reservation for this “Japanese-style private room”.
There is only one room per train, and it is said that it is difficult to make a reservation.
So, this time, I also practiced smartphone operation many times and secured a seat with the feeling of praying, in line with the reservation start at 10:30 two weeks before the boarding date.

和風個室の中です。靴は入口で脱いで上がります。
座席は4人がけの座椅子で、テーブル下は「堀り」が施してあり、リラックスして過ごせます。
発車直後にアテンダントの方が来られ、部屋と食事の説明をしていただきました。
ちなみに個室利用の場合は、お部屋まで食事を持ってきていただけるとのこと。
残念ながら乗車直前にしっかりと朝食をいただいてましたので、車内での食事は次の機会としました。

It is in a Japanese style private room. Shoes are taken off at the entrance and go up.
The seats are seats for four people, and the underside of the table is “digged” so that you can relax.
Immediately after the departure, an attendant came and explained the room and meals.
Unfortunately, I had a good breakfast just before boarding, so I decided to have a meal in the car next time.

列車は、奈良県橿原市の大和八木駅を出発です。
The train departs from Yamato Yagi Station in Kashihara City, Nara Prefecture.

改めて、室内の様子です。入口から奥を望みます。

ここからは、少し車内探検です。
From here, it’s a little in-car exploration.
ここは6人がけのオープンサロンです。
グループ旅行に最適ですし、さらに大人数でしたら、このエリア全体を借り切るのもいいでしょう。
This is an open salon for 6 people.
It’s perfect for group trips, and for larger groups, it’s a good idea to rent out the entire area.

乗車口付近のロッカースペースです。観光列車だけあって、付帯設備も充実しています。
It is a locker space near the boarding gate. As it is a sightseeing train, it has a lot of incidental facilities.

最後尾の展望車両です。
運転室に向かって、座席を回転させ、風景を楽しんでおられる方がいらっしゃいました。
This is the last observation car.
There was a person who was enjoying the scenery by rotating the seat toward the driver’s cab.

カフェ車両です。この車両は二層構造のダブルデッカーで、車窓を流れる風景を楽しめる座席数が確保されています。
それでもこの時は既に満席で、通路には4名の方がお待ちでした。
そして皆さんがお食事中だったこともあり、車内には「松阪牛カレー」の香りが立ち込めていました。
It is a cafe vehicle. This car is a double-decker with enough seats to enjoy the scenery flowing through the window.
Even so, it was already full at this time, and four people were waiting in the aisle.
And because everyone was eating, the scent of “Matsusaka beef curry” was in the car.

先頭車両です。
前面展望、やはり楽しいですね。
This is the front car.
After all the front view is fun.

そして前面展望といえば、この「しまかぜ」には車内のWiFiでスマホから走行中の風景を見ることができるんです。
⬇️の動画が途中の名張駅から宇治山田駅までの風景のダイジェストです。
ただし、残念ながら音声は入っていないので、サイレントムービーになります。
さらに8倍速にしています。1分半ほどですので、ぜひご覧ください。
And speaking of the front view, this “Shimakaze” allows you to see the scenery while driving from your smartphone via WiFi in the car.
The video of ⬇️ is a digest of the scenery from Nabari station to Ujiyamada station on the way.
However, unfortunately there is no sound, so it will be a silent movie.
Furthermore, it is 8 times faster. It takes about one and a half minutes, so please take a look.
宇治山田に到着後は、鳥羽までは10分程度です。
After arriving at Ujiyamada, it takes about 10 minutes to reach Toba.

鳥羽に到着です。
大阪難波からは、1時間50分程度。
とても寛げた時間でした。
Arrived in Toba.
About 1 hour and 50 minutes from Osaka Namba.
It was a very relaxing time.
「しまかぜ」は、終着駅の賢島を目指して出発しました。
今回のような落ち着いた鉄道の旅も、いいもんですね。
“Shimakaze” departed for Kashikojima, the final stop.
A calm railroad trip like this one is also good.
