縁の地、二本松市を後にして、福島県郡山駅に到着しました。

I left Nihonmatsu City, the place of my connection, and arrived at Koriyama Station in Fukushima Prefecture.

東北新幹線の改札内に、お蕎麦屋さんを見つけました。

Inside the ticket gate of the Tohoku Shinkansen, I found a Soba (= buckwheat noodle) shop.

そば粉の比率が高そうな、しっかりとした食感のお蕎麦でした。

The soba noodles had a firm texture that seemed to have a high percentage of buckwheat flour.

郡山駅では、高速で通過する列車を間近でみることができました。

通過線を走行しているというものの、なかなかの迫力があります。

At Koriyama Station I was able to get a close up view of the train as it passed by at high speed.
Although the train was running on a passing line, it was quite powerful.

東京へ向かう列車が到着しました。

The train to Tokyo has arrived.

乗車したのは山形からやってきた、「つばさ号」の車両です。

この車両に乗車するのは、2022年11月以来です。

その時は翌年の年賀状の題材を撮影するために、2023年の干支である「ウサギ」にちなみ山形県の「白兎(しろうさぎ)駅」を訪れています。

The train we boarded was the “Tsubasa” train, coming from Yamagata.

I had not been on this train since November 2022.

At that time, I visited “ Shiro-usagi ( = White Rabbit ) Station” in Yamagata Prefecture to photograph the subject for the next year’s New Year’s card, named after the Chinese zodiac sign for the year 2023, “Rabbit”.
