ここはソウル市の北、約50km場所にある東豆川(トンデュチョン)駅です。
この街へ来たのは、35年前に友人のお母様が住職をされているお寺に案内していただいた時以来です。
이곳은 서울시 북쪽 약 50km 거리에 있는 동두천역입니다. 이 거리에 온 것은, 35년전에 친구의 어머니가 주직을 하고 있는 절에 안내해 주신 때부터입니다.
This is Dongducheon Station, located approximately 50km north of Seoul. I first came to this town 35 years ago when my girlfriend’s mother took me to the temple where she is the chief priest.

実は、35年前にここへ連れてきてくれた友人とは、学校卒業後から今に至るまで連絡先がわからず接触ができていません。
今回の旅で同行してくれた友人にもこの写真を見てもらいましたが、手がかりもつかめず、このお寺に辿り着くこともできませんでした。

실은, 35년전에 여기에 데려 온 친구와는, 학교 졸업 후부터 지금에 이르기까지 연락처를 모르고 접촉을 할 수 없습니다. 이번 여행으로 동행해 준 친구에게도 이 사진을 봐 주었습니다만, 단서도 잡지 않고, 이 절에 도착할 수 없었습니다. 만약, 이 칼럼을 읽은 분으로, 뭔가 아시는 분이 계시면, 꼭 연락을 주시면 좋겠습니다.
Actually, I haven’t been able to contact the friend who brought me here 35 years ago since I graduated from school because I don’t know his contact information. I asked my friend who accompanied me on this trip to take a look at this photo, but he couldn’t find any clues and couldn’t even find his way to this temple. If anyone reading this column knows anything about it, I would love to hear from you.

そして、折角ここまで来たということで、逍遥山(ソヨサン)に訪れました。
그리고, 절각 여기까지 왔다고 하는 것으로, 遍遥山(소요산)에 방문했습니다.
And since I had come this far, I visited Mt. Soyosan.

木々が色づき始めており、美しい景色が広がります。
나무가 물들기 시작하고 있어 아름다운 경치가 펼쳐집니다.
The trees are starting to change color and the scenery is beautiful.

さらに歩いていると、ステージでは民俗楽曲が披露されていました。
さらに進むとこの先には自在庵(チャジェアム)という寺院があるのですが、今回は時間の都合で引き返すことになりました。
ご利益のあるお寺とのことなので、次回には「どうか旧友と出会えますように。」との願いを込めて、ぜひ訪れてみたいと思います。
한층 더 걷고 있으면, 스테이지에서는 민속 악곡이 피로되고 있었습니다. 더 나아가면 앞으로는 자재암이라는 사원이 있습니다만, 이번에는 시간의 사정으로 되돌아가게 되었습니다. 이익이 있는 절이므로, 다음 번에는 「어떻게 옛 친구와 만날 수 있도록.」라고의 소원을 담아, 꼭 방문해 보고 싶습니다.
As I walked further, I saw folk songs being performed on the stage. If you go further, there is a temple called Jajae-am, but due to time constraints this time we had to turn back. The temple is said to bring good luck, so I would like to visit it next time with the hope that I may be able to meet an old friend.

仁川に戻り、ウナギ料理です。
こちらのウナギは日本とは異なり肉厚で、とてもジューシー。味付けはタレもありますが、基本的には「粗塩」でいただくとのことです。
僕は「タレ➕白ごはん」でもいただきましたが、地元の方には珍しく思われたようです。
初めて知ったのですが、日本のウナギの養殖期間は約半年とのことですが、こちらのウナギは自社の養殖場で２年間育てられているとのことです。
인천으로 돌아가 장어 요리입니다. 이 뱀장어는 일본과 달리 두껍고 매우 육즙. 양념은 소스도 있습니다만, 기본적으로는 「조염」으로 받는다고 하는 것입니다. 저는 「양념➕흰 밥」에서도 받았습니다만, 현지인에게는 드물게 생각된 것 같습니다. 처음 알았는데 일본 장어의 양식 기간은 약 반년이지만, 여기 장어는 자사의 양식장에서 2 년간 성장하고 있다는 것입니다.
I returned to Incheon and had an eel dish. Unlike the eel in Japan, the eel here is thick and very juicy. There is a sauce for seasoning, but basically it is served with coarse salt. I also had “sauce + white rice”, but it seemed to be unusual for the locals. I learned for the first time that eels in Japan are farmed for about six months, but this eel has been raised at their own farm for two years.
