042 Prejudice. (先入観)

今回は、私の誤った先入観についてのお話しです。
This time, I’m talking about my false preconceptions.

時期は、少し遡ります。
まだ暑さが厳しっかた頃の京都・宇治。
この宇治橋から上流を望むこの景色は、私のお気に入りです。

宇治橋の袂には、２軒のお店が並んでいます。
老舗のお茶屋さんである「通圓(つうえん)」さんと、和菓子の「駿河屋」さんです。
どちらのお店も、街の雰囲気を醸し出しています。
There are two shops lined up on the Ujibashi bridge.
The long-established teahouse “Tsuu-en” and the Japanese sweets “Surugaya”.
Both shops create the atmosphere of the city.

宇治川の下流には、JR奈良線の橋梁がかかっています。
A bridge on the JR Nara Line hangs downstream of the Uji River.

先ほどの通圓さん、駿河屋さんの向かい側には京阪電車の宇治駅があります。
そして、そこには個性的な看板が。。
Uji Station on the Keihan Railway is opposite Tsuu-en and Surugaya.

派手です。
歴史深い宇治では、ひときわ目立つ派手さです。
お店のネーミングも独特です。
このお店に気づいて１年ほどが経っていましたが、今回ようやくトライすることができました。
それでは、お邪魔してみましょう。

The name of the shop is also unique.
The name of this shop is written on the big sign.
“Do you think adults are cunning?”
And on the banner-flag in front of the store, it is written like this from the left side.
“Sandwiches.”
“This is the store produced by the rumored Takuya Kishimoto.”
“Luxury White bread”
It’s been about a year since I noticed this shop, but I was finally able to try it this time.
Let’s visit this shop.

店内はシンプルな造りです。
The inside of the store is simple.

厨房を仕切る棚には、食パンが並んでいます。
他の商品は、、

いくつかのジャムとバターが並んでいます。

メニューを見つけました。
I found the menu.
食パンだけです。
そうなんです。
このお店、基本は食パンだけで勝負のお店です。
今回は「プレミアム プレーン」をいただきましたが、全てを丁寧に作っておられる印象を受けました。
Only White bread.
That’s right.
This shop basically competes only with White bread.
I received “Premium Plain” this time, but I got the impression that everything was carefully made.

さらに店内の一角には、スタッフの方が作られた折り鶴がありました。
材料から拘られているパン、そして、この折り鶴に込められたお店の方の思い。
ここにきて、ようやく私の誤った先入観が払拭されました。
最初にこのお店の看板を見た時、正直、私は違和感を感じていました。
そして、このお店に入るまで、１年近くの時間を要しました。
そんな中、ここにお邪魔するきっかけとなったのは、このお店をプロデュースされた方を紹介するテレビ番組でした。
その方は、岸本拓也さんという方で、業界ではかなり有名な方とのこと。
いでたちは、極めて個性的なファッションです。
ですが、、
この方の仕事に対する意気込みと情熱、そして真摯さを拝見し、見た目だけでその作品を判断していた自分を反省しました。
今では、こちらにお邪魔して本当によかったと思っています。
そして、先入観だけで判断することの不十分さを改めて痛感しています。
Furthermore, in one corner of the store, there was a paper crane made by the staff.
The bread that is particular about the ingredients, and the thoughts of the shop that was put into this paper crane.
At this point, my false preconceptions have finally been dispelled.
To be honest, when I first saw the signboard of this shop, I felt uncomfortable.
And it took almost a year to enter this shop.
Meanwhile, it was a TV program that introduced the producer of this shop that made me bother here.
That person is Mr. Takuya Kishimoto, who is quite famous in the bakery industry.
He has a very unique fashion.
but,,
I saw his enthusiasm, passion, and sincerity for his work, and reflected on himself who judged the work only by his appearance.
I’m really glad I visited here now.
And I am keenly aware of the insufficiency of judgment based only on prejudice.

おまけ。
Extra.
京都駅の地下街で見つけた、カレーパン屋さん。
先ほどのお店と同じテイストを感じていましたが、やはり同じ方のプロデュースでした。
ちなみに、ここのお店のメニューは「カレーパン」１点のみ。
この心意気は、流石だと思いました。
A curry donut shop found in the underground shopping mall of Kyoto Station.

By the way, the menu here is only one “curry donut”.
I thought this spirit was fine.
