今回のテーマは、近鉄特急・ひのとり。
The theme this time is “Hinotori“, a Kintetsu limited express train.

ただ、今回の主役は、このラグジュアリーな列車ではなく、現場を支え、利用者の安全を懸命に守っていただいている職員の方です。
However, the protagonist of this time is not this luxury train, but the staff who support the site and work hard to protect the safety of users.

この列車は、この雨の中を発車して、名古屋から大阪難波まで向かいます。
なお、今回のムービーですが、録画した時は最前列の座席から前面展望バッチリでした。
ただ、後から見直してみると、後ろからとはいえ運転士さんの姿がしっかりと写っている動画をそのままアップするのは良くないのではと思いました。
なので、風景の部分を拡大してアップしたため、少し見づらい映像になっていますので、お含みおきください。

近鉄名古屋駅の出発ホームです。この駅はJR名古屋駅の東側の地下にあります。
これから乗車するのは17:25発、大阪難波ゆきの近鉄特急・ひのとりです。
既に５番乗り場に入線している車両が見えています。
This is the departure platform for Kintetsu Nagoya Station. This station is located in the basement on the east side of JR Nagoya Station.

発車ホームに来ました。
真紅に光るボディ、間近でみると圧巻です。

なかなか濃厚な味で、美味しかったです。

この列車は、⬇️のルートで大阪を目指します。

この列車は名古屋駅出発後、地上に出た段階で激しい雨に見舞われます。
発車直後にバッドコンディションに見舞われますが、運転士さんの慎重、かつ冷静な判断で、列車は安全に運転されます。
また降雨域を過ぎた後は、時速25kmの速度制限が続き、なおかつ踏切では一時停止が繰り返されていました。
ここに、日本の鉄道会社の安全意識の高さが現れていると、強く感じました。
「安全は全てに優先する。」

この日に着席した先頭の座席、最初は走行中の前面展望を楽しむために予約したのですが、このような「職業人の誇り」と「プロ魂」を見ることができ、本当に良い経験となりました。
この運転士の方のお仕事も素晴らしかったですし、このような教育をされている近畿日本鉄道さんも立派な会社さんだと、強く感じました。

列車は最初の停車駅、津に到着です。
ここでは運転士さん、車掌さんとも乗務員交代をされます。

さて以前は、この津駅には止まらない名阪ノンストップ特急がありましたが、現在では、この駅で全ての名古屋と大阪間の特急が停車し、乗務員の方が交代されます。
その背景として、興味深いお話を聞いたことがあります。聞き伝えの話で、実際の事情と乖離があればご容赦ください。
ノンストップ特急の頃から名古屋から大阪までは２時間以上を要し、どうしても途中で運転士交代の必要があったとのこと。
では、どこで、どのように交代がなされていたか？
そのヒントは、次の動画の区間にあるようです。

運転士の交代は、名古屋線から大阪線へ移るこの短絡線を走行中、列車を止めずに行われていたとのこと。
この交代方法が国土交通省から指摘され、それまでの名阪ノンストップ運転を取りやめ、全ての列車を津駅に停車させて、運転士が交代するようになったとのことです。
この交代シーン、私も見た記憶があります。
この区間まで車掌をされていた方が運転室に入られ、制御装置から交代前後の運転士の手が離れないように、バトンタッチをされていました。

列車は青山峠を超え、奈良県橿原市の大和八木駅に到着です。
大和八木駅は、この「ひのとり」が東西に走る大阪線と、奈良・京都へ向かい南北に伸びる橿原線の乗り換え駅です。

ここを過ぎれば、大阪まであと少しの道のりです。

終点の大阪難波駅には、約20分の遅れで到着です。
ここまで担当された運転士の方が、津駅で引き継がれた時は27分の遅れでした。
規制の多い状況下で、７分もの回復をされた運転技術は素晴らしいものだと思います。
最初の運転士の方はお若い方ながら、厳しい条件下、精一杯の対応をされ仕事に対する真摯さ、熱意を強く感じました。
そして次の方は一見何事もないかのように振る舞っておられましたが、常に冷静な運転操作で、乗客である私たちを安心して目的地まで運んでいただきました。
またこれらの背景には、運転士司令、保線等、多くの方が支え合われてのことだと思います。
最初は先頭座席を確保できて、ただただ喜んでいただけの「ひのとりツアー」でしたが、鉄道の素晴らしさを改めて感じることができました。
今回の「ひのとり」、とても素晴らしい時間でした。
