2022年3月26日土曜日夜の京都駅。
Kyoto Station on Saturday night, March 26, 2022.
今夜はJR奈良線複線化工事があり、宇治駅と棚倉駅の間で代行バスが運転されます。
Tonight, there will be double-tracking work on the JR Nara Line, and a substitute bus will be operated between Uji Station and Tanakura Station.

新田駅付近の工事を見れればと思い、JR京都駅9番線から、最終列車となる宇治行きに乗車します。
I would like to see the construction work near Shinden Station, so I will take the last train bound for Uji from JR Kyoto Station Line 9.

宇治駅に到着しました。
この電車は奈良方面行きホームから、折り返して京都に戻ります。
ここから目的地の新田駅までは、代行バスに乗り換えです。
Arrived at Uji station.
This train will return to Kyoto from the platform bound for Nara.
From here to your destination, Nitta Station, change to a substitute bus.

乗車するのは、このバスです。
見た目は普段の「京都京阪バス」と同じですが、これは亀岡からやってきた「京阪京都交通」のバスです。
そして、その後ろには「京都バス」が待機していました。
It is this bus that I board.
It looks the same as the usual “Kyoto Keihan Bus”, but this is the “Keihan Kyoto Kotsu” bus that came from Kameoka, Kyoto.
And behind that, “Kyoto Bus” was waiting.

新田駅南側の現場です。
時刻は24時40分頃。
作業は既に始まっていました。
It is a construction site on the south side of Shinden Station.
The time is around 24:40.
Construction work has already begun.

架線の設置作業でしょうか。
ライトに照らされているとはいえ、夜間の作業は大変だと思います。
Is it the installation work of the electric overhead wire?
Even though it is illuminated by the lights, I think it is difficult to work at night.

敷設したバラストの整地用重機のようです。
土木工事に詳しくない私ですので、コメントが不正確であればご容赦ください。
It looks like a heavy machine for leveling the laid ballast.
I am not familiar with civil engineering work, so please forgive me if the comments are inaccurate.

保線区のヤードには、通称「マルタイ」と呼ばれる軌道整備車両も留置されていました。
この車両、当然ながら事業関係者しか乗車することができませんが、一度経験してみたいと思っています。
A track maintenance vehicle, commonly known as “Marutai ( Multiple Tie Tamper )” was also detained in the yard of the track maintenance area.
Of course, this vehicle can only be used by business people, but I would like to experience it once.

府道にかかる踏切でも、電気関係の作業をされていました。
今日の現場、協力会社の方々も含めれば100名前後の方が関与されていたと思います。
普段何気なく利用している鉄道ですが、このように多くの人達によって支えられていることを、実感できました。
Even at a railroad crossing nearby, workers were doing electrical work.
I think that 100 people were involved, including those from today’s sites and partner companies.
It is a railway that we use casually, but I was able to realize that it is supported by so many people.
