181 Inari Shrine found in Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture.

東急東横線から、ふと降り立った新丸子駅。

I suddenly got off at Shin-Maruko Station on the Tokyu Railway Toyoko Line.

その街を散策していると、立派な鳥居が見えてきました。

As I was walking around the town, I came across a magnificent torii gate.

A torii is a traditional Japanese gate that marks the entrance to a sacred area (shrine) and separates it from the mundane world.

鳥居のそばには、「京濱伏見稲荷神社」と記された標柱が立っています。

川崎の地での「伏見稲荷」の名称に、好奇心がかき立てられます。

Next to the torii gate stands a signpost that reads “Keihin Fushimi Inari Shrine.”

“Fushimi Inari” is a famous shrine in Kyoto, but the name “Fushimi Inari” in Kawasaki, Kanagawa prefecture piques my curiosity.

Upon further investigation, I found out that this shrine was built at the request of Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine in Kyoto in hopes of recovery after the World War Ⅱ.

境内に入ると、鳥居が立ち並んでいます。

これも「お稲荷さん」の佇まいです。

When I enter the shrine, I see a row of torii gates.

Though compact, this row of torii gates also evokes Kyoto’s “Oinari-san” (as Kyoto locals affectionately call Inari shrines).

そして、ここで目に止まるのが、

And what caught my eye here was,

108体もの神様のお使いである、「きつねさん」です。

the fox, the messenger of no fewer than 108 deities.

予備知識を全く持たずに訪れているので、この風景は圧巻です。

このあたりにも、「関東の雰囲気」を感じています。

Since I visited without any prior knowledge, the scenery was breathtaking.

This area also has a “Edo (the name for Tokyo from the 17th to 19th centuries) atmosphere.”

境内には富士山の霊岩を祀る、「富士浅間社(ふじせんげんしゃ)」も建立されていました。

富士山のモニュメントが、とても個性的です。

何気なく訪れた場所での興味深い発見。

街歩きの楽しさが広がります。

A shrine dedicated to the sacred rock of Mount Fuji was also built within the grounds.

The Mount Fuji monument is very unique.

An interesting discovery in a random place.

The enjoyment of walking around the city will be enhanced.
