徳島駅からはJR四国の列車で目的地まで移動します。
From Tokushima Station we travel on a JR Shikoku train to our destination.
京都ではすっかり少なくなったディーゼルカーですが、四国では主戦力です。
この力強いエンジン音が旅のムードを盛り上げてくれます。
Diesel cars are becoming less common in Kyoto, but they are still the norm in Shikoku. The powerful sound of these engines adds to the excitement of the journey.

徳島市の名所、眉山です。
This is Mt. Bizan, a famous landmark in Tokushima City.
一般的な観光旅行でしたら立ち寄ってみるべき場所なのでしょうが、私たち「鐵道部」は目もくれずにスルーです。。
It would be a good place to stop by on a typical sightseeing trip, but we, the “Railway Club,” are not even interested in it.

途中駅での一枚。
駅構内の連絡通路からの撮影ですが、地方に来るとこのような視線からの撮影ができるので楽しさが増してきます。
This is a shot taken at a station on the way.
It was taken from a connecting passageway in the station. When you come to a rural area, you can take pictures from such a viewpoint, which adds to the enjoyment.

進行方向から、対向列車がやってきました。
このような情景ひとつひとつが、楽しくてたまりません。
An oncoming train is coming from the direction of travel.
Each of these scenes is a joy to behold.

終着の阿波海南駅に到着です。
JR四国の路線はここまでですが、前方にはこれから乗車する「DMV」の線路が続いています。
( DMV = Dual Mode Vehcle とは、鉄道用の線路と一般道路の双方を走行できるように改造されたバス車両のことです。)
We have arrived at the terminal station, Awa-Kainan Station.
This is the end of JR Shikoku’s line, but the “DMV” line, which we are about to board, continues ahead.
( DMV = Dual Mode Vehcle is a bus vehicle that has been converted to run on both railroad tracks and public roads. )
