今回の目的地は渋谷です。

My destination this time is Shibuya, Tokyo.

金曜夜の「のぞみ」で、京都から出発します。

I left from Kyoto on Friday night on the Shinkansen train.

今年(2023年)10月で終了する、東海道新幹線でのワゴンサービスの風景。

This is a scene from the wagon service on the Tokaido Shinkansen, which will end in October this year (2023).

このことに関しては様々な意見が述べられていますが、僕自身は「時代の流れ」の中、合理的な経営判断であったと思います。

Various opinions have been expressed on this matter, but I personally think it was a rational business decision in the “zeitgeist”.

(And as some of you may have noticed, this ⬆️ image is from the return trip “inside the Shin-Osaka bound train”).

東京に向かう車内での「アフォガード」セットです。

This is the “affogado” set in the car on the way to Tokyo.

材料を車内で調達するのも、楽しい思い出になりそうです。

Procuring materials in the car will be a fun and memorable experience.

翌朝の渋谷です。

Shibuya, the next morning.

「なんとかプレッソ２」さんでの、「朝食」です。

当然ながら、衝動的にオーダーしたスイーツだけでは物足らず、、

Naturally, the sweets I ordered on impulse were not enough,

フレンチトーストもいただきました。

I also got French toast.

この後、今回のお目当てのお店に立ち寄り、続いて渋谷の街を散策。

After this, I stopped by the store I wanted to visit, followed by a stroll through the streets of Shibuya.

この「都会っぷり」に、少し驚かされていたところに、

I was just a little surprised by this “urbanity”,

最近、この「エリザベート」のミュージカル楽曲に触れる機会があり、ちょっとしたマイブームが続く中、偶然に見つけた、この看板が目に飛び込んできました。

I recently had a chance to experience this musical piece of “Elisabeth,” and as my little boom continues, this sign, which I found by chance, caught my eye.

その後気がつけば、なんの迷いもなく上映館の「ル・シネマ 渋谷宮下」に向かっていました。

After that, I found myself without any hesitation heading for Le Cinema Shibuya Miyashita, where the film was to be screened.

つい最近まで、ミュージカルには全く触れることがなかった僕ですが、とあるきっかけで宝塚歌劇団のミュージカル楽曲「私だけに」を聴く機会があり、それ以来、この「エリザベート」を深掘りしていたところだったので、なんの迷いもありませんでした。

Until recently, I had no exposure to musicals, but I had the opportunity to listen to the Takarazuka Revue’s musical piece “Watashi-dakeni ( = Only to Me )” and since then I had been digging deep into this “Elisabeth,” so it was a no-brainer.

映画のストーリーは、史実を知っていると「より深み」を楽しむことができ、「歴史の捉え方」からの「推理」、そして「人物描写の奥行き」を感じるものでした。

The film’s storyline was one that one could enjoy “more depth” if one knew the historical facts, “deduction” from the “way history is perceived” and “depth of character portrayal”.

また、19世紀後半のヨーロッパ王朝の様子も丁寧に再現されており、見応えのある作品でした。

It was also worth seeing because of its careful reproduction of a European dynasty in the late 19th century.

ミュージカル「エリザベート」をご覧になられた方には、ぜひお勧めしたい作品でした。

I would highly recommend this production to anyone who has seen the musical “Elisabeth”.
