114 The Japanese Tea Culture in the Bus.

この日、バスを待っていると、

On this day, I was waiting for the bus,

やって来たのは、地元のバス会社の「宇治茶バス」。

The “Uji Tea Bus,” a local bus company, came.

車体の側面には、茶畑のイラストが描かれています。

On the side of the car body is an illustration of a tea plantation.

車内からは、日本建築の雰囲気が漂ってきます。

From inside the car, you can feel the atmosphere of Japanese architecture.

乗車口のドアは、古民家の引き戸のようです。

The door of the boarding gate looks like a sliding door of an old Japanese house.

後部座席は「茶室」をあしらった内装になっています。

The rear seats are decorated in a “Tea-Ceremony Room” style.

右側に見える窓はハートの形。

The window on the right is in the shape of a heart.

これは週末にこのバスが走る、日本緑茶発祥の街である「宇治田原町」がハートの形をしている

ことからデザインされています。

This design was inspired by the heart shape of Uji-Tawaracho, the birthplace of green tea in Japan, where this bus runs on weekends.

そして「ハートの窓」といえば、宇治田原町の正寿院さんの「猪目窓」があまりにも有名。

And speaking of “Heart Window,” the “Inome Window” at Shojuin-Temple in Ujitawara-cho is so famous.

今では、海外からも多くの観光客の方がお越しになられています。

Nowadays, many tourists from abroad come to visit.

バスに設置されているモニターでは、日本茶の製造方法や沿線の観光案内が上映されています。

Monitors installed on the buses show information on how Japanese tea is made and tourist information along the route.

この動画は観光路線を走る時だけでなく、通勤時間帯での運行時でも見ることができるので、地元の方にも再発見があります。

This video can be viewed not only when the train is on the tourist route, but also when it is operating during commuting hours, so locals can rediscover it.

およそ10分ほどのショートトリップでしたが、一日の終わりに良い気分転換ができました。

It was a short trip of about 10 minutes, but it was a nice change of pace at the end of the day.
