＜ 不屈の意志 ＞
実は私、このブログだけでなく、次の展開としてYouTube動画も制作してみたいなと思っていまして、
Actually, I would like to produce not only this blog, but also YouTube videos as my next development.
それでも、巷には既に数多くの「鉄道系YouTuber」さんがおられる中で、どのように「差別化」を図ろうかと考えたところ、ひとつのアプローチとして、魅力的なナレーションができるようになりたいと考えました。
Still, I thought about how to “differentiate” myself from the numerous “railroad YouTubers” already out there, and one approach I wanted to take was to be able to narrate in an engaging way.
そこで、昨年夏に京都市内のとある師匠の門を叩き(=ホームページをクリックし)
So, last summer, I knocked on the door(=click on the homepage) of a certain mentor in Kyoto City,
今まさに、伸びしろ満載の状況でレッスンに取り組んでいます。
Right now I am working on a lesson in a situation where there is a lot of potential for growth.
そして今回、東京を旅した折に、「私たちの師匠が情熱を注いだ街」を歩いてみることにしました。
And this time, on a trip to Tokyo, I decided to walk around “the city that our mentor was passionate about”.

降り立ったのは、神奈川県川崎市麻生区にある小田急線の新百合ヶ丘駅。
I got off at Shin-yurigaoka Station on the Odakyu Line in Asao-ku, Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture.
小田原線から多摩線が分岐する、３面６線を有するターミナル駅です。
This terminal station has three platforms and six lines, with the Tama Line branching off from the Odawara Line.
急行電車から降り立った私は、しばし２本の特急列車に見とれていました。
I got off the express train and admired the two express trains for a while.

ようやく移動を開始しました。南口ゲートです。
I finally started to move. This is the south exit gate.
比較的新しい街らしく、洗練された雰囲気です。
This town seems relatively new and sophisticated.

地図の掲示板にも、街の空気感が表れています。
The atmosphere of the city is also expressed in the map’s bulletin board.

駅南側のロータリーです。街づくりが、整然と行われたことが伝わってきます。
This is the rotary on the south side of the station. The city planning was done in a well-planned manner.

師匠が過ごされていた学舎です。
This is the schoolhouse where our mentor spent her time.
みなさんが切磋琢磨し合う場所、緊張感が伝わってきます。
A place where everyone can hone their skills and the tension is palpable.
創立者の銅像、威厳に満ちていました。
The bronze statue of the founder, full of dignity.

隣接されたカフェ、立ち寄ることにしました。
I decided to stop by the adjacent cafe.

食事をいただきながら、考えました。
As I ate, I thought about it.
ここを目指された時の、師匠の希望。
Our mentor’s hope when she set out here.
そして、いくつかの時を越え育まれた「不屈の意志」と、私たち生徒への思い。
And the “Indomitable will” that has been nurtured over the years, and his feelings for us pupils.
ボイトレや、発声法の習得は、もちろん簡単なものではないけど、
Vocal training and learning how to vocalize are not easy, of course.
精一杯追いかけてみようと、改めて思えた時間でした。
It was a time when I was reminded to pursue it to the best of my ability.
