069 Post-Town Noborito.
今回訪れたのは、川崎市多摩区登戸。
This time I visited Noborito, Tama Ward, Kawasaki City.
この地域は現在の東京都世田谷区三軒茶屋から神奈川県相模原市の旧・津久井地区を結ぶ「津久井街道」沿い、多摩川右岸に位置するかつての宿場町です。
This area is a former post town located on the right bank of the Tama River along the “Tsukui-Kaido” that connects the current Sangenjaya, Setagaya Ward, Tokyo to the former Tsukui district of Sagamihara City, Kanagawa Prefecture.
“Kaido” here refers to the main road from the time when people were traveling on foot.
関西で暮らす私には馴染みのなかった地域ですが、歴史ある交通の要衝として栄えた場所であり、また、今後の「伸びしろ」を感じる場所です。
Although it is an area that I am not familiar with living in western Japan, it is a place that prospered as a historical transportation hub, and a place where I can feel the future “growth”.

JR南武線の登戸駅から出発します。
Depart from Noborito Station on the JR Nambu Line.

駅前ロータリーからは、藤子・F・不二雄ミュージアム行きのシャトルバスが運行されています。
A shuttle bus to the Fujiko F. Fujio Museum runs from the rotary in front of the station.
Mr. Fujiko F. Fujio is one of Japan’s leading manga artists. His masterpiece is “Doraemon”, and I think many of you know it.
このバスが向かう場所の楽しさが伝わってきます。
I felt the fun of the place where this bus goes.

登戸駅の西側に進みます。
I go to the west side of Noborito station.
地元の氏神様、登戸「稲荷社(いなりしゃ)」です。
It is the local Ujigami(=the local Shinto deity), Noborito “Inarisha”.
地域を知ろうとする時、その場所の氏神様を知ることは大切なことだと私は思います。
When trying to get to know the area, I think it is important to know the Ujigami of that place.

しばらく歩くと、
After walking for a while,
立派な山門を構える、光明院の前に出ます。
You will be in front of “Komei-in (Temple)”, which has a magnificent Sammon(=the main gate of a Buddhist temple).
カラフルな幟で活気ある雰囲気が伺えます。
You can see the lively atmosphere with the colorful flags.

さらに奥へ進むと、
Going further back,
梨狩りをされている農園がありました。
There was a farm where you could do Pears Picking.
この地域一帯、かつては「多摩川梨」と称される梨の栽培が盛んで、今でも何軒かの農家さんが作っておられます。
In this area, pears that were once called “Tamagawa-Nashi (=Tama River Pear)” are cultivated, and some farmers still make them.
次のこの地を訪れる時は、梨狩りにチャレンジしたいと思います。
The next time I visit this place, I would like to try Pears Picking.

さらに散策を続け、小田急線の向ヶ丘遊園駅までやってきました。
I continued walking and came to Mukogaoka Yuen Station on the Odakyu Line.

小田急線には東京メトロ千代田線を経由して、JR常磐線からの直通列車が乗り入れています。
A direct train from the JR Joban Line runs on the Odakyu Line via the Tokyo Metro Chiyoda Line.
関西エリアではJR線と大手私鉄の相互直通がないので、このように小田急線内をJR車両が走る姿が、とても新鮮に思えます。
In western Japan, there is no direct connection between the JR line and major private railways, so it seems very unusual for a JR vehicle to run on the Odakyu line in this way.
⬆️の動画にあるように、列車の往来が活発な路線は、見ていて楽しいものです。
As you can see in the ⬆️ video, the lines with active train traffic are fun to watch.

そして、この日のゴールはこちらの模型店さん。
And the goal of the day is this model store.
向ヶ丘遊園駅付近一帯の再開発事業に伴なって、現在は仮店舗での営業をされています。
Due to the redevelopment project around Mukogaoka Yuen Station, this store is currently operating as a temporary store.
街が生まれ変わり、新しい人たちが移り住まれることは良いことだと思います。
I think it’s good that the town is reborn and new people move in.
一方で、歴史を積み重ねた街並みが無くなるのも残念な気持ちでもあります。
On the other hand, it is also a pity that the cityscape that has accumulated history disappears.
かといって、街並みだけが残り、人がいなくなってゆくのも望まれることではないですし。
However, it is not desirable that only the cityscape remains and people disappear.
まちづくり、街の活性化は難しくもあり、興味深いとこでもありますね。
Town development and revitalization of the city are difficult and interesting.

And here is the harvest for this day ⬇️.
登戸産の「丹後の海」。(「丹後の海」は、京都府北部を走る京都丹後鉄道の特急車両です。)
“Tango no Umi (=The Sea of the northern part of Kyoto Prefecture)” from Noborito. (“Tango no Umi” is a limited express train of the Kyoto Tango Railway that runs in the northern part of Kyoto Prefecture.)
さらに今回、この街を歩いて「向ヶ丘遊園駅付近も旧来からの登戸地域である」ことを知りました。
Furthermore, this time, I walked around this town and learned that “the area around Mukogaoka Yuen Station is also a traditional Noborito area.”
そうだ、今度はこの列車に乗って与謝野へ行こう！
Yes, let’s take this train to Yosano!
(Yosano is a town in the northern part of Kyoto prefecture, which is also one of my hometowns.)
