184 An encounter with a Tobu Railway (a railway company in the Tokyo metropolitan area) train in Kyoto.
休日の朝に京都に向かう用事があり、いつもの大久保駅から近鉄電車に乗る予定でした。
予定していた列車には間に合う時間でしたが、10分早い急行に乗れそうでしたので、家から2kmの道のりを急いで歩いて駅へと向かいました。
I had business in Kyoto on a holiday morning and planned to take the Kintetsu train from my usual station, Okubo.
I had enough time to catch the scheduled train, but since I could catch an express train leaving 10 minutes earlier, I hurriedly walked the 2 km from home to the station.

そこでやってきたのは、、
And then came…
近頃、沿線のファンから話題となっている「東武鉄道」のデザインが施されたラッピング車両です。
この車両は、いつ乗れるかわからないので、毎日の通勤でも探していたところです。
突然の出会いに、自ずからテンションが上がります。
Recently, a wrapped train featuring the design of Tobu Railway, which operates in the Tokyo metropolitan area, has been a hot topic among fans along the line.
I’ve been looking for this vehicle every day on my commute because I never know when I’ll be able to ride it.
Sudden encounters naturally get me excited.

京都駅に到着後は、折り返しの普通列車となっていました。
After arriving at Kyoto Station, it became a local train running back.

車体の側面には「東武鉄道のシンボルマーク」と

東武鉄道沿線観光地のPRがペイントされていました。
Advertisements for tourist spots along the Tobu Railway line were painted on the walls.

改めて、車内の風景を撮影。
ここまで人がいない状況には、なかなか遭遇できません。
Once again, I photographed the scene inside the car.
It’s rare to encounter a situation this deserted.

この編成の後部には、新型車両の「8A系」が併結されていました。
京都駅でのさつえいを堪能したのですが、実はこの後に乗る列車の出発時刻が迫っていたので、撮影が終わるや否や「かなりの早歩き」で次の乗り場に向かいました。。
At the rear of this formation, the new “8A Series” vehicles were coupled.
I thoroughly enjoyed taking photos at Kyoto Station, but since the departure time for my next train was fast approaching, I headed to the next platform at a brisk pace as soon as I finished shooting.
