米原駅に降り立ち、日本海に面する福井県の敦賀駅に向かうか否か。。

しばし悩みましたが、この雪を見て敦賀行きの列車を見送ることとしました。

I thought about it for a while, but when I saw the snow, I decided to miss the train to Tsuruga.

選択したのは新幹線。

天候を鑑み、雪景色も堪能したので、京都駅まで戻ることとしました。

I chose the Shinkansen.

Considering the weather and having enjoyed the snowy scenery, I decided to head back to Kyoto Station.

東海道新幹線の米原駅では、車体に付着した雪を除去するための散水装置が稼働していました。

At Maibara Station on the Tokaido Shinkansen line, sprinkler systems were in operation to remove snow from the train cars.

京都へ向かう列車の到着です。

The train bound for Kyoto has arrived.

新幹線に乗車すると、安心感に包まれます。

When I board the Shinkansen, I feel a sense of security.

と思っていたら、京都駅到着の直前に緊急ブレーキが作動し、⬇️のようなサインが表示されました。

Just as I was thinking that, the emergency brakes were activated just before arriving at Kyoto Station and a sign like this appeared.

＜　The train will make a sudden stop. Please be careful.　＞

今まで何度も新幹線を利用していますが、このような表示を見たのは初めてです。

この後、3分ほどで運行が再開され、無事に京都駅に到着しました。

I have taken the Shinkansen many times, but this is the first time I have seen a sign like this.

After this, service resumed in about three minutes, and the train arrived safely at Kyoto Station.

新幹線の京都駅ホームでは、うっすらと雪が積もっていました。

There was a thin layer of snow on the Shinkansen platform at Kyoto Station.

私が利用した列車が、終着駅の新大阪駅へ向かってゆきました。

往復２時間の小旅行でしたが、とても楽しい時間でした。

The train I was on headed towards its final destination, Shin-Osaka Station.

It was a short two-hour trip, but it was a very enjoyable time.
